Students receiving funds from Title IV programs are subject to the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Return to Title IV (R2T4) policy. The return of your funds to Title IV is separate from any refund policy that your college may have. Therefore, you may still owe funds to the college to cover unpaid institutional charges. The college may also charge you for any Title IV program funds that the college was required to return.

In the event of an Act of God (i.e. hurricane, fire, blizzard) that delays a scheduled start date, Northeast Maritime Institute will contact the student by telephone informing the student regarding the delay and the new intended scheduled start date. A student may cancel this agreement without penalty within seven days of being notified of any expected delay to the scheduled start date.

Return of Funds
The Institute will review attendance and student tuition accounts at week four of the semester to determine refunds and institution-initiated student terminations.*

Federal, state, and institutional financial aid will be returned to the appropriate source in accordance with federal and state regulations then in effect at the time of the student’s withdrawal.

The College’s preferred refund method is check. Requests for refunds should be made in writing to the Bursar’s Office: [email protected]

*If it is determined that a refund must be made co-payable to an outside sponsor, lender or other third party, the refund will be made payable directly to the third party via check.
